Plex-Earth, a platform for AutoCAD that brings many aerial and satellite imagery providers under a single umbrella, announced it has expanded its offering to BricsCAD to inform smart engineering with recent, historical, high-quality imagery and terrain data.
There’s no need to change your printers, templates, blocks or sheet set layouts to move to BricsCAD – all are 100% compatible. Command names, aliases, and system variables are the same in BricsCAD and AutoCAD®. BricsCAD is based on native DWG for the highest compatibility with. Dwg platform for 2D Drafting and 3D Direct Modeling and the base for creating parametric BIM and Mechanical 3D models. Create and manage parametric building and infrastructure projects in an intuitive and customizable environment. To help you keep your bearings in the current coordinate system, BricsCAD displays a coordinate system icon (UCS icon). The visible portions of the axes are the positive directions. Three colors represent the three axes, making it easier for you to recognize the orientation in three-dimensional space.
Cadworx On Bricscad
By leveraging the power of premium imagery from providers like Maxar, Airbus, Nearmap, Hexagon or Google Maps within BricsCAD and visualizing designs into Google Earth, engineers understand project site conditions early on, speed up processes and avoid rework.
- What is BricsCAD? Architectural CAD solution designed to help architects, contractors, and engineers create graded and TIN surfaces as well as corridors to create site designs. BricsCAD allows designers to automatically create bends and T-connections on moving around connected profiles.
- The free solid modelling tool, BricsCAD Shape, is built into the single BricsCAD installer. When the BricsCAD Ultimate 30-day trial expires, it reverts to a perpetual BricsCAD Shape license, which can be converted to a full commercial license by purchasing a license key. It is not needed to uninstall BricsCAD.
The ability to rapidly and easily obtain quality real-world data remotely with Plex-Earth is of utmost importance especially in light of the coronavirus pandemic, where site visits and ground-based surveys are limited or not possible.
Instead of using free imagery sources that are often outdated and unsuitable for commercial engineering use, designers can make full use of Airbus’ and Maxar’s vast historical datasets or Nearmap’s and Hexagon’s ultra-high resolution imagery to get better precision and track the progress of their projects.
“Ten years ago, being a civil engineer myself, I got a bitter taste of the true cost of rework, leading me to develop a tool that would give me a bird’s eye view of the jobsite and ultimately make me a better engineer. Plex-Earth was born back in 2010 out of this necessity and I am truly excited that we have now expanded our unique offering to BricsCAD and businesses of any size through a variety of affordable Plex-Earth subscriptions. New content providers will constantly be added and we will soon also include on-demand drone flights in the mix,” said Lambros Kaliakatsos, Plexscape founder and CEO.
